DAY THREE

A beautiful day riding, the weather was hot but lucky for me there was a gentle breeze blowing all day.

OK, Oxford and Coventry Canal sorted, 56 miles of lovely bottom hurting towpaths!

That leaves just the Trent Mersey Canal to go and then I have to try to work out which way to go next. At the minute it looks like it could be a ride up the river Derwent and some how pick up the strangled out Cromford canal, whats left of it.

Day two, canal ride. 51 miles today very very hot. Lot's of stopping to cool down.

I have now joined the Oxford canal this will take me through Rugby then onto the Coventry canal. 

Hope its a little bit cooler for tomorrow's ride. 

Just made camp in a lovely spot on the towpath, ready for a good nights sleep.

DAY TWO 

Looking forward to riding today, I had a good nights sleep in my tent on the canal towpath.  Early start today at 6am, so I should get some good miles in. The weather is set to be v-hot dont, I must not forget the suntan cream.😡

DAY ONE OVER.

TODAY 56 MILES, a stunning day's riding, weather not too hot. The ride today  followed the River Thames from Tower bridge to Richmond and then picked up  the Grand union canal, first camp Berkhamstead. My bottom is ready for a rest 😏

Hi All

Last year I set off to ride from London to Matlock following the Grand union canal, unfortunately due to bike problems I did not finish the 360 mile ride. Today 30 June 2018 I will attempt to complete the same bike ride, hoping to raise some money for Dukes Barn, to buy  new canoes. 7:40 train from Chesterfield to London St. Pancras. The first leg starting at London's Tower Bridge to Uxbridge 40 miles. The weather is stunning.
